Ellia Cavanaugh

I am a student at Stanford University studying mechanical engineering and computer science. I am fascinated by the applications of mathematics in the physical world: from the flow of water across a mountain to the behavior of a tiny mechanical structure. I enjoy sitting with difficult problems, exploring the details, and building new systems, and am especially interested in propulsion, control dynamics, and machine learning. I grew up moving around every three years as my family worked for the State Department Foreign Service — I have lived in seven countries!
